Hoops and Yoyo! – dvd3000

If my main art style has ever seemed familiar, it’s probably because you walked by these 2 silly guys while in the Shoppers Drug Mart birthday cards aisle in 2012, or saw any of their digital cards or online videos.

Hoops and Yoyo were originally a product of Hallmark created in 2003, 2 silly characters who say relatable things and also maybe like each other a bit too much. Since Hallmark fired their creators and abandoned Hoops and Yoyo in 2015, they’ve sorta just been floating around the internet. When I first discovered them in 2018, I loved them immediately. There isn’t much of a Hoops and Yoyo community nowadays, so I figured I’d give back a little with some of my own crappy fanart.

I originally drew this in September 2022, this was my first attempt at drawing in the Hoops and Yoyo artstyle. This was created using the Paint.NET curved line tool, which perfectly recreates the curves seen in the official art.

The first 2 are basically the mascots of tentimesfriday, the “furry monitor thing” is based off of my modded Nec Multisync 1530v seen in some of my older videos, which I taped ears onto in 2019. The Furry Monitor essentially represents my computers, which all of them hate me.
PowerDVD3000, is of course… me. Basically. Addmitedly I didn’t put much thought into the character design. Friday the Dog is also technically a 10xF character, and of course Spot the Dog is also Budget Santa cause of the BT878 video.
